What Ask CLEO can and cannot change

The complete list of changes Ask CLEO can prepare, and the ones it leaves to you.

There are two different things you can do in a conversation with CLEO: ask and ask it to do something. Asking never changes anything. Asking it to do something produces a card describing the change, and nothing happens until you press Confirm.

The line under the box says it in one sentence: CLEO can read your business, and change only what you approve.

What it can prepare

Everyday operational work — the things you'd otherwise open three screens to do.

Customers and leads

  • Plan a follow-up, mark one done, or cancel one — and set follow-ups for a whole list of people at once.
  • Create a lead from what you tell it.
  • Record how a lead ended — won, lost, or not a real opportunity — for one lead or for several.
  • Write a note on someone's record.
  • Change a phone number or email, rename a record, or change whether it's a person or an organisation.
  • Archive someone, or bring them back.

Requests

  • Log a request, change where it stands, flag it critical, or add an internal note.
  • Connect a request to work, or create the work from it.

Work

  • Move a piece of work to its next stage.
  • Add an action item, or change one: mark it done, reopen it, cancel it, reassign it, move its date.

Appointments

  • Book a new appointment, or move an existing one.
  • Record what happened — completed, no-show, cancelled.
  • Change how long one runs, or link it to a piece of work.

Your week

  • Close a date, or set different hours for one day.

Decisions

  • Record your decision about something CLEO noticed, for the two kinds that support it.

What it will not do

This list is short on purpose, and each line is a deliberate limit rather than a missing feature.

CLEO will notWhy
Contact your customersIt never emails, texts or calls anyone on your behalf
Delete anythingIt archives, cancels or voids — it never removes a record
Record moneyPayments, refunds and corrections are made by a person, on the payments screen
Change your settingsCapabilities, team, business details, kinds of work and their stages, your booking hours, appointment types and the online booking switch are all yours
Act on its ownNothing happens without a Confirm from you — there is no scheduled or background action
Convert a lead into a clientThat's a decision with billing attached, so it stays on the screen

What it can't see is also limited

CLEO reads only what your business has switched on. With Bookings off it can't answer about appointments or prepare one; with Requests off, the same for requests. It says so plainly rather than inventing an answer, and the ability returns the moment you switch that part back on.

Some preparations also need a specific area: recording how a lead ended needs Pipeline, action items and stage moves need Work, and closing a day needs Bookings.

One more boundary, in conversation

CLEO won't turn thinking aloud into a change. Musing, a question, or a "maybe I should…" gets a question back, not a card — most visibly with decisions, where it prepares one only when you've actually stated one.
